Design Corps was founded in 1991 with a mission to create positive change in traditionally underserved communities by using design, advocacy, and education to help them shape their environment and address their social, economic, and environmental challenges. Our mission is realized when people are involved in the decisions that shape their lives.
AmeriCorps VISTA Positions
There is a growing field of community-based service called Public Interest Design. Design Corps is playing a central role in the development of this new sector by building capacity through multiple scales and models. The AmeriCorps member, titled “Design Corps Fellow,” will help build this emerging field through activities such as creating exemplary community-driven projects, engaging with the public, organizing trainings, documenting exemplary projects, and networking with other networks and organizations. Specific positions are posted throughout the year as they become available
